Geri daughter was a 'beautiful accident'

Geri Halliwell says her daughter was a "beautiful accident".

The Spice Girl - who has a 17-month-old daughter, Bluebell Madonna, with former lover, screenwriter Sacha Gervasi - believes motherhood has been a blessing and given her the motivation to be the best she can be.

Geri said: "So many women today are single parents, I don't feel different.

I think you get out of life what you put into it and Bluebell was a beautiful accident. I feel blessed to have her.

"I'm learning every day as a mother. I'm learning that she's like a flower that thrives when it gets sunlight, and the sunlight is confidence, and I feel that when I'm confident it gives her self-esteem. And that gives me motivation to go on and be the best."

Geri, 35, also revealed becoming a parent has made her a more compassionate person.

She added to Britain's Guardian newspaper: "At first I was a single, young Bridget Jones kind of woman. I was operating in a selfish world. Now I'm a mother my compassion has expanded."

The singer - who is currently preparing for the Spice Girls' comeback world tour which kicks off on December 2 in Vancouver, Canada - would love another child and is even looking into the possibility of adopting.

Geri said: "I'm open about it and I'm educating myself at the moment."
Edwyn Collins to release new single

Edwyn Collins is set to return with a new single ''You'll Never Know' on September 10 after a life-threatening illness.

The singer and producer - who most recently produced The Cribs and Little Barrie is on the way back following two cerebral brain haemorrhages in early 2005.

Collins began working on his new album 'Home Again' in late 2004, and continued working on it following a long period of rehabilitation after his illness.

The album will be released on September 17.
